The Team:

You will be part of a growing People, Culture & Processes team, but with focus on Compliance and risk management.

  • The Compliance Officer is a very transversal function, where you get to understand the business at all levels and get involved to improve business efficiency and reduce risk. It’s a strategic support role within the EcoOnline business and will report to the Head of Risk and Compliance.
  • This role will be responsible for the identification, assessment, monitoring and effective reporting of compliance matters as well as establishing systems and processes to ensure compliance with legislative, regulatory and EcoOnline policy requirements impacting our business operations. The Compliance Officer will be responsible for delivering the Compliance Management Program elements into local markets.
  • EcoOnline is a company in rapid growth backed by solid owners, and is currently present in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, the UK, and the US. The position is a great opportunity to contribute and influence the company and shape the compliance function. 

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the business complies with the product development and approval process
  • Identify gaps in existing processes or arising from new regulations and ensuring that the correct remedial actions are put in place to close these gaps
  • Formulating and monitoring the implementation of compliance risk monitoring plans, including conducting formal compliance reviews as required
  • Regularly assess the effectiveness of control systems and recommend improvements
  • To monitor and compile reports on regulatory risks for reporting to the Head of Risk and Compliance
  • Employing agile methodologies for workload prioritization, tracking, and ensuring maximum value is derived
  • Supporting the production and delivery of the Compliance Annual Plan
  • Responsible for producing regular high quality ‘state of compliance’ reporting
  • Formulating and monitoring the implementation of compliance risk monitoring plans
  • Monitor and report on changes to legislation impacting the business of the organization
  • Ensuring the effective implementation of the organization’s Compliance framework
  • Draft Compliance Risk Control Assessments for all legislation that applies to products and/or services offered by EcoOnline
  • Designing, documenting, and implementing compliance processes, procedures and manuals and compliance risk management plans
  • Develop and deliver compliance-related training material and training plans
  • Identifying and reporting of compliance risks, breaches, and incidents within area of responsibility
  • Drive compliance awareness and encourage a compliance culture across the business

Your Skills:

  • English at negotiation level and fluent in a Scandinavian language
  • Minimum two years of experience in a compliance environment, including experience in identifying, creating, establishing, and maintaining a regulatory universe, creating a monitoring program, drafting policies, implementing, and performing compliance training.
  • Good command of IT tools and excel
  • Technical knowledge and understanding of GDPR is required, and an understand of other relevant market specific regulation, including AML, Trade Controls, Anti-bribery, and corruption, is highly desirable.
  • The successful candidate also possesses a passion for compliance and applying it in a business advantageous manner.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, law or equivalent
  • Compliance certification would be an advantage
