About the Role
The Insight and Data team is a recently formed team focusing on analytics, data extraction, transformation, and load, as well as governance and stewardship. The team is primarily responsible for enabling access to all data within EcoOnline rapidly and consistently to end users as well as ensuring data governance is implemented and data quality is properly monitored and improved over time. The Insight and Data team is involved in some of our largest systems initiatives, ensuring data is considered often, and as a priority as we continue to scale our business.
This is an opportunity to join a fast moving team building out data infrastructure from scratch and establish best practice methodology for ETL and data consumption at a global company that is quickly growing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee a team of 2 ETL Developers to ensure all source systems in EcoOnline’s landscape are properly ingested into the data lake hosted within AWS S3.
- Own and develop all data pipelines and infrastructure using a combination of Talend Data Studio, Stitch Data Replication, and SQL.
- Own development of automation to enable near real time data availability within datasets and data lake (AWS Redshift and AWS S3).
- Own initial development of datasets from the data lake to enable surfacing topical data with light normalization to end users.
- Ensure methodology used is compliant with best practices and well documented for future initiatives.
- Advise on data migration efforts for system implementations to ensure tools and methodology are compliant with overall strategy
What we're looking for:
- Extensive data quality and data migration experience including proficiency in data warehousing, data analysis and conversion planning for data migration activities.
- Strong SQL query skills, comprehensive understanding of SQL Table structure and an understanding of relational databases.
- Ability to work well with other stakeholders and departments
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to tell a story and identify trends
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when handling sensitive information
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities at once
- Strong experience with Talend, SAP DataServices, Informatica, or similar ETL Tool.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Computer Science or other related analytical or technical disciplines, or at least four (4) years related experience.
- 5-7 years of experience.
Nice to have:
- Experience in a lead and/or supervisory role preferred.
- Background in system implementations and consolidations preferred
- Background in SaaS companies preferred
