About the team:
Our Chemical Safety team brings together developers working across a variety of technology stacks, with a dedicated group developing with JavaScript, Vue.js and Typescript. This role will contribute directly to our flagship product, Chemical Manager, where Vue.js powers the user interfaces that bring complex chemical safety data to life for our customers.
The team is distributed across Norway, Ireland, Sweden, and the United Kingdom, giving us a diverse mix of perspectives and ways of working. We actively support hybrid and remote setups, while encouraging strong collaboration across borders. For this position, we see particular value in strengthening our presence in Norway, where Tønsberg serves as our centre of excellence for Chemical Safety, though we welcome candidates from other locations.
Key responsibilities:
Design, build, and maintain responsive user interfaces for Chemical Manager using JavaScript and Vue.js.
Collaborate with backend engineers to consume APIs and ensure seamless integration of data into the frontend.
Work in agile pods with Product, UX, QA, and other engineers to deliver features that are intuitive, reliable, and impactful.
Participate actively in sprint planning, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups, ensuring shared accountability for delivery.
Apply modern frontend practices including reusable UI components, state management, and responsive design.
Support testing and quality by writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests for UI features.
Use version control (Git/GitHub), CI/CD pipelines, and modern build tools to support efficient, collaborative development.
Partner closely with UX designers to translate wireframes and prototypes into polished, production-ready interfaces.
Contribute to performance optimization, accessibility improvements, and cross-browser compatibility.
Share knowledge with teammates through code reviews, documentation, and technical discussions.
Experiment with emerging tools and practices — including responsible use of AI in development — to improve efficiency and user experience.
What we're looking for:
5+ years of professional experience developing with JavaScript in a commercial setting. Strong history of Vue experience is a major advantage.
Experience working in SaaS or other large-scale, customer-facing platforms is an advantage.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
Not required, but certifications in JavaScript frameworks, cloud, or accessibility are beneficial.
Technical skills
Strong expertise in JavaScript with proven experience in Vue.js (or similar modern frameworks).
Experience with TypeScript or a willingness to work in typed JavaScript environments.
Solid understanding of frontend application architecture, including state management and component-driven development.
Experience with RESTful API integration and working closely with backend teams.
Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design practices. Familiarity with CSS frameworks such as Tailwind CSS.
Proven experience implementing automated testing (unit, integration, and end-to-end) using frameworks such as Jest, Cypress, or Vue Test Utils.
Comfortable with Git/GitHub workflows and collaborative development practices.
Proven experience using CI/CD pipelines and modern build tools (e.g., Webpack, Vite).
Proficiency in accessibility standards (WCAG) and performance optimization techniques.
Interest in applying AI to improve development efficiency and user experience.
