About the Role
The Learning & Development (L&D) Director is a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of learning strategies and programs that enhance the skills, knowledge, and capabilities of our people. This role involves collaboration, thought leadership and the ability to identify training needs to fuel the growth and delivery of our organisational goals, building a high-performance culture where people can thrive. Key Responsibilities:
- Learning & Feedback Culture: Develop and execute a robust L&D strategy aligned to our EcoOnline objectives, helping us build a learning culture based on 70-20-10 model. Identify and assess current and future training needs through career paths, performance enablement and consultation with leaders.
- Curriculum and Programme development: Responsible for the design and implementation of a variety of training programmes, including leadership and management development, DEI, onboarding programmes, and performance enablement. Partner with functional leads to ensure curriculum development supports pipelining talent and further skills.
- L&D Budget Holder: Develop and manage the global L&D budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and partner with finance to monitor expenditures and financial performance against budget.
- Stakeholder management: Collaborate with senior leadership and People team to identify training needs and align L&D initiatives with business goals. Work with functional heads to understand specific skills required for their teams and develop tailored training programs.
- People Experience: Create a supportive and engaging employee experience, especially in remote and hybrid work models and implement programs.
- Compliance and Reporting: Ensure all training programs comply with industry regulations and organisational policies. Prepare and present regular reports on training activities and outcomes to senior management.
- ESG: Act as a key member and role model forming our Global ESG Committee leading and delivering against all initiatives supporting our social responsibility such as DEI and Wellbeing, working in partnership with our Head of Sustainability, People Leaders and Senior Stakeholders.
- Success Metrics and Effectiveness: Establish metrics to measure the effectiveness of training programmes and initiatives. Regularly review and update training programmes to ensure relevance and effectiveness and make data driven decisions.

- Communication is key, able to build deep working relationships with our people, stakeholders, taking the time to listen and understand challenges we are facing into. Superior facilitation skills both virtually and in person.
- Ability to lead through change, high resilience and comfortable facing setbacks. Able to bring solutions to all conversations in a proactive manner.
Data driven decision making, ability to analyse data and build data points to lead the org when making decisions, aligned to our people strategy and prioritisation. - Lead projects, cross functionally with a preference for execution. Ability to prioritise workload autonomously and lean in to support others with delivering against commitments. Continually seek improvement opportunities and own implementation activities and process roll-out.
